Oude Gueuze is a Belgian lambic brewed through the fermentation of a mixture of young and old lambics.
Spontaneous fermentation and maturation for two years in oak casks gives this beer its highly unique flavour, which has characterized it for over 200 years. The beer is then bottle conditioned using different yeasts, including Brettanomyces bruxellensis. The result: a dry and delightfully sparkling beer.
Oude Gueuze is light-yellow amber in appearance, crowned with a nice head. It has a very fresh nose, more spicy than fruity, with touches of citrus, pepper, vanilla and oak. The aftertaste is long, dry and intense.
